Position Summary:

Responsible for managing Mortgage Insurance (MI) certifications, following up with MI companies, assuring that MI was properly ordered, activated and released. Reconciles insurance premium payments once MI certification is activated on the loan and coordinates payments to MI companies, as required. Works directly with Underwriting to resolve any MI payment discrepancies. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.


  1. Activates BPMI for each MI company on individual websites.
  2. Works with accounting to get LPMI paid by wire to each MI company.
  3. Confirms MI companies received wires.
  4. Activates all HARP MI loans on MI websites regardless of BPMI/LPMI.
  5. Cancels MI certifications for loans that cancelled with loanDepot.
  6. Follows up with all MI companies to insure certifications have been activated for LPMI and BPMI.
  7. Works with Cenlar to insure activation on MI certifications that are in their names.
  8. Performs other duties and projects as assigned
  • Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
  • Intermediate skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules on a short-term and long-term basis.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in a similar field.
  • Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
