Position Summary:The Wellness Administrative Coordinator manages the administrative activities of the Troy & Dollie Smith Wellness Center at the INTEGRIS Cancer Institute of Oklahoma.

Essential Functions:

The Wellness Administrative Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Coordinates and performs scheduling for Wellness Center modalities and multi-disciplinary clinics

* Acquires insurance verification and authorizations for the technical charge component, and oversees the hospital and/or physician billing process

* Uses diagnosis codes to assign ICD 9 and CPT codes to create appropriate scheduling and billing services and procedures

* Greets and gives direction to patients and visitors

* Maintains waiting area, work area and office suites

* Maintains electronic and hard cover medical Library

* Maintains brochure and literature inventory

* Serves as the American Cancer Society contact for the Personal Health Manager and Wig and Prosthesis

* Maintains newsletter database

* Assists with Cancer Check, including screening preparation and follow-up activities

* Receives and directs phone calls, sorts and distributes mail, orders and maintains supplies

* Serves as the liaison of communication between other hospital departments, community services, and Wellness Center personnel

* Processes department timecards by receiving time correction sheets and ensuring readiness for director sign-off function


Reports to the Metro Director of the Oncology Wellness Center.

Environmental Conditions:

Minimal probability of exposure to, blood, body fluids, infectious and communicable diseases, and electrical equipment while in the patient care areas. Exposed to a variety of constant interruptions, noise, disagreeable fumes and assorted chemicals. Potential for bodily related injury due to incidence of violence in the workplace. Potential verbal abuse by patients. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are utilized.

* Bachelors degree in related field. 4 years of applicable work experience may be substituted for degree
* 1 year health care experience, oncology setting preferred
* 45 wpm typing
* Intermediate knowledge of a Microsoft Applications
* Must be able to communicate effectively in English
