Child Care Manager (Director) position for the Children's Place, a well-established NAEYC accredited facility in South Oklahoma City.

Position Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the day to day operation of one or more of the following entities: The Children's Place at IBMC, Fun & Fit, and The Children's Place at ISMC

Essential Functions:

The Operations Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Operates facility in a compliant cost effective manner while providing a high level of customer satisfaction

* Receives staff, families, visitors and assists or directs them accordingly including receiving and following through with communication, inquiries and complaints

* Ensures compliance with Department of Human Services, Health Department, USDA CACFP, NAEYC, and other regulatory agencies

* Participates in continual professional development by attending workshops, conferences, college courses, and reading to expand knowledge of child development and adult training according to the requirements of regulating agencies and needs of department

* Manages department staff, including hiring, scheduling, training, evaluating performance and competency, and conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed

* Well versed in NAEYC accreditation and licensing standards

* Strong leadership, supervisory and customer service skills and ability to create/maintain partnerships with families, staff, vendors, and community partners

* Ability to lead staff in implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum

* Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks or crisis situations effectively

* Manages program planning, special events, family orientations, conferences, and other department specific events as needed

* Manages department staff, including hiring, scheduling, evaluating performance and competency, conducting disciplinary/counseling sessions as needed, annual performance reviews, professional development plans, staff meetings, staff orientations, staff training in accordance with DHS requirements for child care programs

* Exchanges appropriate daily information with families concerning the needs of each child

* Models respectful interactions and problem solving techniques for children to assist in successful development of social skills. Maintains constant observation and control of all children under his/her guidance. Maintains a safe, stimulating, and creative learning environment appropriate to each group of children

* Assists with or coordinates payment of departmental billing and/or collections including DHS subsidy, budgets, reports, data collection, data entry, business plans, research and analysis

* When necessary, fulfills the role of `DHS Person in Charge,' teacher, cook, or shuttle driver in order to maintain smooth daily operations and DHS required ratios for child care programs or out-of-school time programs onsite and/or offsite for Children's Place or Fun & Fit.

The Operations Manager reports to the System Director Children's Place.

Environmental Conditions:

Low exposure to hazardous risks. Potential for bodily injury related to lifting. Exposed to constant interruptions and/or noise due to large numbers of children playing within close proximity. Potential for exposure to infections and communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Must follow standard precautions. Changes soiled diapers and clothing on a regular basis.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education/Child Development or related field required

* Silver or higher Oklahoma Director's Credential or documentation of all requirements needed to meet Silver or higher Oklahoma Director's Credential

* 3 years of management/leadership experience in early childhood setting

* A combination of infant, toddler or preschool teaching experience

* Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
