Quality Technician

Job Summary: This position provides both technical and administrative services for the Quality Department to create, maintain, and audit quality related documentation.

  • Analyze and interpret drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, and identify appropriate measuring instruments as required.
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Perform Incoming/Receiving Inspections and Final Inspections, as assigned.
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; input data into various databases such as SPC charts.
  • Ensure quality of manufactured goods.
  • Inspect goods as they are finished.
  • Inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies.
  • Examine materials from suppliers before sending them to production line.
  • Take samples for testing.
  • Produce detailed reports.
  • Ensure company is meeting the standard codes in the manufacturing process and communicate advisements for improvement to appropriate personnel.
  • Perform inventory functions, as assigned.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of procedures and work instructions to ensure conformance to customer drawings/specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintenance of Quality records, archives, and Material Certificates of Compliance.
  • Work with Project Management and Quality Engineers to determine quality requirements on existing and new projects.
  • Perform Production and In-process Audits on parts and processes, as required.
  • Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to product specifications and request necessary process or assembly adjustments from engineering or manufacturing.
  • Assist with Layered, Process, Internal, and Product Audits.
  • Assist with internal and external Corrective Action Requests (CAR’s), Preventative Action Request (PAR’s), and Nonconforming Material Reports (NCMR’s).
  • Conduct training for office and manufacturing personnel.

  • Associate Degree in an engineering or applied science discipline or equivalent work experience in a Quality Engineering/Assurance Field.
  • Tools/Technology (preferred):
    1. Tools used in this occupation: Go/No Go Gauges, Calipers, Digital Micrometers, Vision Inspection Systems (Micro-Vu Inspection), Comparator, CMM, and Label Making Software.
    2. Technology used in this occupation: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Power Point), SPC Software (InfinityQS), MiniTab, InspectionXpert
  • Background in ISO13485/ISO9001/TS16949/AS9100/FDA preferred
  • Quality Systems entry capability preferred.
  • Blueprint interpretation, GD&T, and SPC capability.
  • In-process and final inspections capability
  • Process auditing capability
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to record and document applicable data
  • Must be able to perform moderate to heavy physical demand involving lifting and moving of equipment.
  • Driven by process improvement and continuous improvement.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong math skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and strategically prioritize responsibilities in a fast paced production environment.
  • Must be able to work standing for extended periods of time and maintain dexterity when handling parts and components.
  • Perform all duties with little or no supervision
  • English language proficiency to include verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings.

1st Shift: 7am - 3:30pm or 8am - 5pm
