Hiring a sous chef to join our team

Mägo is a Colombian inspired American restaurant that focuses on the quality of food, warm service, and relaxed atmosphere.  We offer a set tasting menu 4 nights a week, Wednesday- Saturday.

The ideal candidates are eager to learn and grow with our team. Our kitchen team is very small and we are looking for someone that can really embrace being a part of our team. Must be a charismatic person who is comfortable speaking with guests, running food to tables and working in an open kitchen. The right chef should be self motivated, a go-getter and able to step in wherever is needed as we are a small team that relies on quick action.  An interest in latin american cuisine, pastry work and rock & roll are all pluses......we no longer have titles here at the restaurant. 

Candidates must be reliable, motivated, hardworking and have a commitment to service. 

Preferred Experience:
Strong knowledge of food
Experience on saute and wood fire cooking 
Michelin-starred experience preferred
Able to work in high pressure in an open kitchen

Ability work in an ever changing environment, our menu changes daily
Have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar kitchen.
Current Food Handler Permit.
Positive attitude and team mentality

COMPENSATION: Competitive pay and health insurance for full time employees after 60 days. All staff will be receiving tips on top of hourly wages. Four day work week.
