The Facilities Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing electrical maintenance on all facilities support systems. This individual needs a working knowledge of motors, motor controls, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), and uninterruptible power supplies and must be able to read and interpret schematics.

 

Job Responsibilities
  • Analyze motors, motor controls and other electrical equipment to identify problems
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical components in systems
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on equipment
  • Troubleshoot, service, and repair production support systems from an electrical aspect
  • Troubleshoot and repair static, UPS units and electrical systems and equipment
  • Pull and terminate wiring and test wiring for possible problems
  • Utilize various types of electrical testing meters: Multi-meters, amp meters, high pot insulation testers, Dranetz line disturbance monitors and other job-related test equipment
  • Utilize schematic drawings as a tool in troubleshooting control problems and problems with electrical systems
  • Read and review construction prints to identify possible problems with equipment designs and installations
  • Complete general housekeeping tasks
  • Accurately complete documentation (e.g., work orders, pass downs, etc.)
  • Operate and maintain emergency generators

 

Desired Skills & Qualifications
  • Must hold or meet qualifications required to acquire current Utah State Journeyman Electrical License
  • Possess broad background in maintenance of electrical systems
  • Ability to work productively with limited supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain positive working relationships
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Able to work from various heights using step ladders, extension ladders and man lift /boom lift type equipment
  • Able to adjust to change in daily work assigned.
  • Able to work in underground vaults and confined space areas
  • Required to answer after hours and weekend calls.
  • 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance industry preferred
  • 2 Years of Electrical Automation program preferred
  • 3 years semiconductor manufacturing facilities experience preferred
  • Interpersonal and one-on-one communication skills
  • Committed to team goals and objectives and takes pride in work
  • High voltage substation experience preferred
