Who You Are: 

The Pastry Lead has proven written and spoken communication skills and natural problem-solving ability. You are self-motivated and self-driven and remain calm under pressure. You bring a flexible approach to your work and are okay with assisting in other areas of the kitchen when needed.

Additionally, you have:

·      High school diploma or GED; culinary degree or certification a plus

·      Minimum 4+ years of experience in a high volume, fast-paced kitchen

·      Minimum 2+ years in a pastry leadership position or related role

·      Ability to converse in Spanish a plus


What You’ll Do: 

As Pastry Lead, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to lead dessert and bread production at Andina. This position will produce pastries and breads as well as train and direct staff on dessert and bread execution.
The Pastry lead inspects and assures food quality and recipe accuracy while maintaining cleanliness and safety of production areas.

Additionally, you will be able to confidently accomplish the following responsibilities:

·      Ensure that our company values are known and visible in our work

·      Accomplish accurate ordering for pastry and bread items

·      Build accurate prep lists that consider seasonal changes and menu item usage

·      Assure quality controls of ingredients, cooking techniques, and plate specs 

·      Work with the Executive Chef to develop recipes that honor our commitment to quality and authenticity 

·      Contribute to management of food cost controls, minimizing waste and seeking efficiencies

·      Work in hands-on positions outside of pastry when needed

·      Promote learning for both kitchen and service teams, sharing knowledge of ingredients, recipes, and food culture
