Purpose of Position:

The purpose of this position is to lead a product line for discrete glass products. Scope includes the articulation of the product definition and value proposition, pricing (with pricing team), placement (with sales team) and promotional/commercial launch plan (with marketing communications and branding team).


Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product strategy
  • Determine product objectives and relay customers’ needs (i.e. what is the problem to be solved or capability the customers desire)
  • Articulate product attributes, specifications and product trajectory to ensure an advantaged product
  • Articulate value proposition, business model and gain approval from the business leadership
  • Interpret market demand and provide key input/decision for capacity planning through forecasting and demand management process
  • Develop deep understanding of the customers’ products systems and how they impact our product’s specs and value proposition. Work with manufacturing to find opportunities to reduce complexity and cost reduction in the manufacturing process
  • Engage, as needed, in supply chain disruption issues to influence or make decisions on global order and development/manufacturing prioritization
  • Act as the key interface between commercial technology, development, end-market, finance, forecast, legal, manufacturing, and sales teams Develop and implement pricing strategy (in collaboration with pricing team)
  • Support the development of pricing strategy based on cost analysis (e.g. materials, processes), value analysis and shareholder needs
  • Implement pricing process for efficient and effective price management that meets all contractual requirements as defined with legal Develop and implement customer strategy
  • Work with sales to segment customers’ products, and refine market forecast
  • Work with legal and sales to define contractual and licensing terms and participate in the approvals of the supply agreement and licensing process
  • Working with application engineering, ensure the sales team has the knowledge and supporting information to effectively deploy product line strategy to achieve revenue and market share goals

  • Performance against key business and financial objectives, as measured by the business team
Education & Experience:
  • We require a Bachelor’s degree in business or science and 5 years of experience in customer facing roles (e.g. account manager, application engineer, commercial technology or product line management), or an MBA with 2+ years of customer facing experience
  • Prefer prior manufacturing or innovation program experience with 3+ years in high-tech, display related, OEM, materials, or consumer electronics industry
  • Knowledge of marketing, business analysis and commercial operations
  • Eye for business and analytical abilities
  • Handle stressful environment and multiple projects
  • Lead business relationships using combination of data driven analysis, critical thinking, networking and strong interpersonal skills
  • Well organized, process oriented, and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Effective communicator including problem definition, decision/recommendations and supporting logic/data up to and including executive level both internally and externally as the need arises

Knowledge of glass technology

Work hours/schedule:
  • Regular business hours and management level workload expected with evening calls to Asia


Travel requirements:

  • Approximately 25-40% travel required, both domestic and international Current travel will be handled with COVID-19 restrictions and company policy
