Electronic Technician

Basic Functions: 

An Electronics Technician will perform preventative, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on industrial equipment with a strong emphasis on, but not limited to electrical controls and systems. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to production work orders regarding troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide variety of manufacturing & facility equipment which includes fabrication, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, PLC and robotic processes.
  • Assist Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians on any electrical control, motion control, Vision Camera, robotic and PLC equipment
  • Primary PM focus on electrical cabinets, PLC/Robot/Drive Backups
  • Become familiar with APCOM’s product specifications and the quality standards, including assisting in the development and upkeep of operating procedures for process and equipment, reviewing each line for quality, and working with the Quality department to train employees to identify quality problems.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds at a time/ 50lbs overhead
  • Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout shift, without sitting down
  • Complete all work orders related in a timely manner.



Education and Experience:

  • Electrical knowledge: Industrial electrical controls, 4-20ma signals, 0-10 vdc signals, RSLogix 5000, Siemens PLC, RSLogix 500, ControlLogix, Variable Frequency Drives, HMI’s, Ladder Logic, Electrical prints, 480 vac-24vdc, Relays, Light curtains and other safety interlocking systems.
  • Capable of performing all tasks of a Multi-craft Maintenance Tech II
    • Fabrication of mechanical aides for process improvements
    • Install electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
    • Train set-up operators and other maintenance personnel in order to upgrade their skill level
    • Perform PM’s and provide feedback that can improve the preventative maintenance system
    • Perform all duties and responsibilities safely.  Ability to follow company safety policies and practice safe work habits.
    • Troubleshoot and repair problems with Robots.
    • Troubleshoot and repair problems with PLC’s.
    • Troubleshoot and make repairs on all plant equipment.  Assist others when needed.
    • Perform PM’s on a timely basis and provide feedback that can improve the preventative maintenance system.
    • SAP Data Entry including corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, project work orders, and safety work orders.  Details of actions and parts used must be entered in SAP.
    • Work with other departments, such as tooling and engineering, in order to assist projects to a successful completion
    • Make logical decisions and perform in a quick pace environment under pressure.
    • Journeyman or similar related certification or degree preferred
    • Must possess a complete set of maintenance tools
    • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical, PLC’s and robotics
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in an industrial maintenance or similar, with a focus on electrical controls, or a combination of education and experience
