Summary

The Accounting Analyst is a key member of the Accounting organization, working alongside cross-functional teams to develop and implement accounting processes and internal controls. This position will report to the Accounting Manager, and work in a fast paced, multifunctional team environment and serve as a significant resource for Company management.

 

This role will be located in our Lancaster office 

Responsibilities

Work is typically performed with guidance about overall goals and objectives. The Accounting Analyst must be able to independently evaluate processes, identify areas of improvement and recommend solutions. Key tasks include the following:

  • Document and record accounting transactions per GAAP.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform trend analysis.
  • Create ad hoc and monthly reports from multiple sources.
  • Report and analyze variances to budget, forecast and prior year.
  • Assist with external and internal audit requests.
  • Record and document key control activities to ensure compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Respond timely and accurately to special reporting requests.
  • Proactively identify risks and opportunities for improvement within the accounting processes. 
  • Support the transition to new systems and system upgrades.
  • Assist with developing the annual budget.
  • Complete other responsibilities and projects assigned by the management team.
Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
  • 3 - 5 years of experience, preferably in a similar role

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.  Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders.
  • Customer-focused with attention to detail.  Deliver quality results timely and consistent manner.  
  • Experience with leading projects and process improvements preferred.
  • Ability to learn specialized software for accounting responsibilities.
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
  • SAP experience preferred.
