The Temecula/Vail Lake KOA is an outdoor campground destination looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team as the Assistant General Manager. Located in beautiful Southern California among a grove of oak trees, we are a year-round park offering camping close to the Temecula wine country, beautiful Vail Lake, and miles of mountain bike, horse, and hiking trails. Our Assistant General Manager's primary responsibility lies in ensuring our guests have a great camping experience through effectively managing all aspects of their stay. This includes reservations & registration, the camping experience while on the park, and the accommodation offerings available, essentially the Front of House experience. Excellent customer service and problem resolution is a key component to success as well as effective management and communication with staff. We are looking for someone who has experience in training employees and is enthusiastic about creating memorable experiences!


Administrative tasks:

• Work with GM to coordinate weekly department heads meeting

• Meet with GM individually once per week

• Help disseminate information on project plans, policy changes and other information from GM and KEI

• Supervise the daily/weekly scheduling and approvals of Front Desk, Guest Service and Housekeeping staff

• Assist GM/other department heads with scheduling and approvals as necessary

• Schedule Safety/other trainings for staff

• Review/approval of monthly expense reports for Front Desk/Guest Service/Housekeeping


Management Responsibilities:

• Main areas of focus are campground occupancy, scheduling, employee staffing and problem solving

• Oversee the recruitment and hiring of staff for Front Desk/Guest Services/Housekeeping staff

• Oversee the orientation and training of new hires for Front Desk/Guest Services/Housekeeping staff

• Continual development of staff

• Conduct employee disciplinary actions for Front Desk/Guest Services/Housekeeping

• Assist with disciplinary actions for other departments when needed

• Conduct bi-annual or quarterly department head/employee reviews for Front Desk/Guest Services/Housekeeping staff

• Follow up on HR tasks

• Act as on-site decision maker when the GM is not present

• Have knowledge of all job duties for Front Desk/Guest Service/Housekeeping

• Primary responsibility for resolution of Customer Service issues/complaints

• Adheres to company purchasing policy


. Requirements:

Working hours:

• Full-time – 40/week

• Salaried

• Wednesday – Sunday or Thursday – Monday work schedule (must include minimum of one weekend day)

• Daily hours lean to the evening with scheduled hours ending between 6pm-8pm depending on the season


Skills Required

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other internet applications

• Two-year management experience in Tourism/Hospitality

• Associates degree or higher

• Demonstrated experience in staff training

• Ability to lift 50lbs

• Sit/Stand for long period of time

• Hold a valid Driver's license


Preferred Skills

• Bi-lingual is valued

• Organized

• Interpersonal communication skills


Successful candidates are eligible for subsidized health care after 60 days and Simple IRA participation after completed milestones. Salary considerations will be discussed during the interview process and previous experience will be taken into consideration.
