Technical Specialist - Core Lab Full Time Day Shift Trinity Hospital

Day Shift 

 

Position Requirements:
Bachelor degree and graduation from a Medical Technology program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or an equivalent program, in a science related field, or documented equivalent education and training (ie MLT with 5 years of laboratory experience in Accrediting Organization, CAP, or any other lab accrediting agency).

Two (02) years clinical laboratory experience as a working laboratory professional.

Experience as a senior technologist and/or instrument key operation preferred, but not required.
Position involves moderate and/or high complexity testing as defined by CLIA '88.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge of computers with basic understanding of word processing and spreadsheets.
Thorough knowledge of statistics and ability to apply statistical rules/analysis to laboratory decision~making processes.
Proven ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks.
MLS(ASCP), MT(ASCP), MT(AMT) with baccalaureate degree. ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) categorical certification (BB, C, H, I, M) or a baccalaureate degree where categorical certification in specialty area is not available. Position requires ability to consistently handle multi~tasking, meet established timeframes, and recognize assignments that may be delegated.
Ability to work well in stressful situations, maintaining professional composure at all times.
Ability to articulate knowledge of topics under discussion.
Ability to build and support a highly cohesive and functional team are critical characteristics.
Ability to effectively and appropriately communicate in all situations.
Ability to balance research findings with ACL technical limitations.
Ability to effectively instruct associates in new procedures and technologies.




Purpose:
Serve as technical specialist for a clinical testing area within ACL Laboratories (ACL). Incumbent will function as a front line technical resource to ensure prompt testing and reporting of results for clinical laboratory samples within established guidelines. Maintains close working relationship with laboratory supervisor and other technologists to ensure clear understanding of technical issues. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in the development and implementation of new, state~of~the~art procedures and instrumentation so that ACL can achieve and maintain technical superiority and a competitive business advantage.
