Electrical Test Technician-Customer Support

Description:

Aerotek is looking for a Technical Support Specialist to join our team of highly skilled customer service professionals. He/she must have at least 2 years of experience in technical support or service, possesses excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, and has outstanding verbal and written communications skills. The position is located in Columbus, OH and report to the Customer Service Manager.

The Technical Support Specialist should possess the ability to perform the following:

Under limited supervision, provides technical support and inside sales assistance for digital readout systems and linear encoders.

A variety of routine support activities in the customer service function. Responsible for promoting and maintaining positive customer relations. Responding to customer inquiries and resolving problems. Interacting with other departments to resolve technical product issues, ensure delivery schedule, or help resolve account billing. Examine warranty claims and handle customer returns and exchanges. Provide product and pricing information.

Use oscilloscope and voltmeter to analyze waveforms

Repair electronic equipment and sensors, analyze faults, document faults found

Excellent writing skills are required for this position

Technical Support Specialist duties include:

Assist customers in specifying the correct product for their application

Provide quotes to customers

Provide technical support, application assistance, and sales support to customers

Assist with writing and editing technical product documentation

Provide systems integration support. Assist customers with sensor integration to PLC, CNC, or PC controls. Review specification of third party controls to determine sensor compatibility.

Document customer concerns. Implement or recommend corrective services to adjust customer concerns.

Acts as a liaison between the Field Sales Force and other functions within the company.

Performs order management such as expediting and resolving scheduling problems, tracking and communicating progress points of order to ensure delivery requirements are met.

Investigates and ensures resolution of customer service requests. Reconciles and communicates information from a variety of sources to ensure accurate resolution.

Maintains accurate and complete documentation of customer communication and action taken. Maintains and updates profiles.

Utilizes a knowledgebase of the company’s products and their use.

Provides technical support to sales staff in determining feasibility of company product for customer requirements.

Customer interface – order entry and maintenance of all documents including spec folders, quotes, purchase orders, etc.

Implements, and researches status of, customer orders, returns, repairs, or replacements, providing information to customers on problems.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirement:

Associate degree in electronics or electromechanical technologies preferred

Minimum 2-4 years related experience

Excellent customer service and phone skills, with ability to work in fast-paced sales environment

Positive attitude and team player

Proficient in computer software applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel)

Quality and detail oriented

Thorough understanding of company products

Ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively regarding customer issues
