Lead Business Analyst


The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for researching and analyzing processes and systems of the ANA Enterprise and documenting, evaluating, and aligning all work to team, department and Enterprise strategic goals while adhering to Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) standards, best practices and processes.


  • Gathers information through internal and external research, internal and external interviews (as applicable), document analysis, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task analysis, and workflow analysis
  • Maintain ANA Business Analyst standards and processes (including tools as well as processes, standards, and templates), recommending improvements, and assisting and supporting EPMO leadership in implementation of and compliance with all continuous process improvement efforts for all Business Analysts.
  • Leads and facilitates requirements discussions with a variety of audiences including one-on-one interviews, small groups, and collaborative workshops to elicit and discover business needs and ensures clarity of goal/outcome desired. Creates documentation of those business needs and goals using unambiguous and concise language. Identifies and recommends opportunities for streamlining and efficiencies and assists with ensuring alignment with IT Enterprise strategies and goals.
  • Creates all business analysis documentation adhering to ANA EPMO standards for templates and tools throughout the entire Software Design Life Cycle (SDLC). Business analysis documentation includes but is not limited to, Business Requirements Documents, traceability matrices, wireframes, process and data workflows, and current and to-be documents, fully captures desired outcome, actors, steps, screens, forms, data fields, actions, triggers, etc.
  • Supports and maintains the ANA EPMO Business Analysis and Business Analyst standards, processes, templates and recommends and leads the implementation of approved continuous improvement efforts. Trains Sr. Business Analysts and others as applicable on standards and processes and assists with ensuring and maintaining compliance by all ANA Business Analysts (Sr. Business Analysts and consultants).
  • Mentors and coaches all ANA Business Analysts (Sr. Business Analysts and consultants) in all areas of ANA EPMO Business Analyst standards and processes.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or relevant field or equivalent specialized work experience
  • 8+ years conducting business analysis for multifunctional projects
  • Diverse business experience with exposure to operational, financial, and technological areas
  • Business Analyst certification of IIBA CBAP, PMI-PBA or equivalent required
  • Experience with custom software development, eCommerce systems and BPMN2
  • Ability to analyze, understand, and document business challenges and desired outcomes
  • Ability to facilitate problem resolution, especially when negotiating with multiple business or stakeholders
  • Ability to be a strong communicator in all settings (face-to-face, virtual) and with all audiences (such as functional and technical stakeholders, developers, system architects, system analysts)
  • Ability to create clear, thorough business analysis documentation using concise language and diagrams
  • Effective and clear writing ability in translating business challenges into documentation needed for both stakeholders and technical teams
