OverviewFitness Manager Sign on bonus $1,000 Seeking a skilled, energetic, motivating, and compassionate individual to lead our Fitness Team. The ideal candidate has a passion for wellness and fitness and possesses the necessary skill-set suitable to working with the senior population. You will have the ability to design programming, lead existing classes, coach and mentor a team of fitness instructors, and have daily opportunities to change and improve the lives of our residents through your classes, one-on-one training, and approachability.
Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of our onsite gym and fitness studio, including budget oversight, equipment monitoring/replacement/repairs
Teach an array of safe, quality classes designed for different skill sets, interests, and ability levels
Manage a team of fitness associates and contract instructors
Create and develop new classes for the community based on resident needs and feedback
Work closely with the Director of Community Life, Director of Wellness, Health Services, our Wellness Team, and others to understand and engage our residents
Help our residents achieve their personal or clinician recommended fitness goals
Be a key player in upholding our community culture
Ability to work one-on-one with residents for personal training needs

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy, or related field, or an Associates Degree in the Fitness, Health Promotion, Exercise Science, or Allied Health Specialties with relevant experience strongly preferred
Minimum of two years managerial experience coupled with fitness program development; background in group fitness instructor and personal training
Experience working with older adults strongly preferred
Preferred certifications would include: Certified Personal Trainer (ACSM, NASM, ACE, Cooper Institute, or AFAA), First Aid/CPR required for certification compliance. Functional Aging Specialist preferred
