Job Summary

We are seeking a Veterinary Technician I for our Safety Assessment site located in Reno, Nevada. 

 

The Veterinary Technician 1 will assist veterinary staff in the documentation and triage of all laboratory animal health cases  In addition, this individual will may also perform technical in-life procedures.

 

* Upon hire, this position is eligible for a sign-on bonus *  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of a collegiate veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Training Activities or equivalent program in veterinary technology.
  • 0-2 years related experience working with animals in pre-clinical laboratory or clinical setting; experience working with a CRO with multi-species preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above if the individual is credentialed as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
  • If uncertified, must be able to receive certification within 12-18 months or show that certification has been substantially completed. 
  • Proficient in routine veterinary technical and husbandry techniques.
  • Demonstrate understanding of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and recordkeeping skills.
  • Proficient in Computers (ie:  MS Office Suite).
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • LVT license or CVT/RVT certification.
  • AALAS certification.
