Job Description

Provide administrative support to the Garfield plant manager, department managers, and supervisors.  Provide assistance on personnel-related matters at the plant to support the facility’s operation. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Administer Garfield operations processes including the hours accounting, assisting with QA, AIB, ISO, EHS/OSHA 300 log and EPA tracking.  Track employee attendance, vacation, benefits, personnel records and departmental metrics
  • Assist with the human resources aspects of the daily office function.  Assist employees in obtaining answers to questions regarding benefits, payroll and policies.  Ensure appropriate information and paperwork is received to ensure timeliness of increases and personnel changes.  Utilize Kronos and HRIS
  • Perform MRO (maintenance repair operations) purchasing and coordinate general manufacturing/office supply orders for the Garfield facility
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize ERP system and retrieve data from the system for reporting purposes
  • Efficiently handle communication to and from operations staff and internal/external customers including matters of a complex or confidential nature, responding proactively to satisfy needs
  • Serve as Garfield contact for Human Resources, assisting in their requests for information, forms, postings, and distribution of correspondence
  • Coordinate and schedule activities and services for the Garfield plant to enable effective time utilization and work schedules
  • Assist managers and supervisors with special projects.  Take meeting minutes and circulate to attendees.  Assist Plant Manager with mail, phone and maintaining schedules
Qualifications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and data management.  Able to learn and become proficient with internal systems such as, but not limited to, ADP, SAP, Concur, ISO and Outlook.  Able to retrieve, compile and organize data and create graphs and charts.
  • High school diploma and 2 – 3 years of related work experience.  Administrative experience in one or more areas: purchasing, manufacturing, quality or human resources. 
  • Associates degree in business preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and interruptions.  Adaptable and able to effectively deal with change in a positive manner.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills in person and on the phone.  Able to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is required.  Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to organize data, files and other information for self and others.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle employee matters professionally.
  • Must be flexible to alter schedules to support other shifts and events when required.
  • Demonstrated good performance in current role.
