Seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer Designer Drafter for a rapidly growing company in the medical and pharmaceutical industry.  This role is responsible for sourcing and purchasing of commodity type and sub-contracted labor to achieve departmental goals and objectives.  Looking for someone who can manage vendors for quality, on time deliveries, non-conformances, metrics aligned to company objectives, and risks associated with vendors or contractors. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years in purchasing within a manufacturing environment.  We offer a very competitive compensation package as well as a fully climate-controlled environment across both of our facilities on one campus. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Process purchasing documentation (i.e requisitions, purchase orders, cancellation forms, continual improvement reports) in accordance with ATS/sortimat USA policies and procedures.
• Track, monitor and maintain purchase order deliveries to drive on-time delivery to schedules.
• Expedite purchase orders based on input from project teams.
• Review part blueprints, understand type of subcontract work required, and choose optimal sub-contract vendor.
• Communicate with and evaluate vendors to ascertain their ability to meet company requirements, goals, and objectives.  This will include on-site visits to subcontract vendor locations.
• Negotiate prices, discounts and delivery arrangements with suppliers.
• Expedite problems with suppliers regarding costs, quality, quantity and delivery of goods.
• Perform on-going review of product and services to identify new opportunities for cost savings.
• Resolve invoicing discrepancies and approve for payment.
• Effective use of historical and other benchmarking data to ensure competitive pricing.
• Assist in the development of cost containment, product standardization, vendor consolidation and benchmarking reports, and other supply chain management strategies that maximize value while ensuring that ATS standards are maintained or enhanced. 
• Act as a key resource for ATS/sortimat staff by assisting in the research and development of products, service and equipment alternatives, initiation and follow-up of evaluations, requests for quotation and other day-to-day procurement.
• Assist in the development of contracts with the Manager, Subcontract Manufacturing, sortimat team and vendors.
• Continuously maintain accurate ERP records with vendor master, item masters, and fully understand MRP for full achievement of reporting features tied to supply chain roles.
• Adhere to all International Standardization (ISO) procedures and departmental policies and procedures.
• Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS/sortimat Code of Business Conduct.
• Full compliance to the terms and conditions within the employee signed work from home policy
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures. 
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Education:

• A post-secondary degree in Purchasing or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

• Experience with a minimum of 5 years in Purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Sound working knowledge of Excel, Word, Office, Power Point, and ERP systems required.
