About the Role:

This position is located in Franklin Park (Chicago), one of the major Ferrero plant acquired in North America with 700+ employees producing iconic products: Butterfinger, Baby Ruth and Nips. The Food safety & Quality systems Supervisor is a key functional and management position in the Ferrero Quality Organization, in charge of developing and managing the Quality system (Model ISO9001) and the Food safety system (GFSI/FSSC22000) for the plant.

As a member of the Quality Leadership Team of the plant, this position reports directly to the Head of Quality. She/He is actively involved in cross functional work with Production, R&D/Technology, Engineering, Maintenance, HR, Finance. The FS & QS Supervisor leads the implementation of the Ferrero Food Safety and Quality Standards. Manage and coordinate internal and external audits. Leads root cause analysis related to Non-Conformances on the FS and Quality systems and is responsible for employees’ Quality training and development, related to FS and Q systems.This is a key role in the transformation of the plant, and a great opportunity for a talented individual.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Implement during the next two years, a Quality system following ISO9001 model and Ferrero standard, in collaboration with Corporate Quality.
  2. Develop and sustain a Food Safety system based on model FSSC22000.
  • Overview and Manage the quality documentation in collaboration with the Quality supervisors in charge or sections of the plant
  • Create and update Food Safety Procedures
  • Prepare & coordinate all Food Safety & quality auditing and inspections for the site.
  • Manage various certifications.
  • Manage Food safety plans: Facilitate risk analysis, maintain HACCP and HARPC plans, manage the validation and verification of Preventive Controls, maintain recall procedure.
  • Develop and validate the sanitation program.
  1. Supervise the pest control provider and monitor trends, correctives actions related.
  2. Coordinates the plant food safety team

  5. Oversee Employee Training

  • Develop the employee training programs and presentation, ensure they are updated
  • Conduct plant wide training with all employees and assist with auto-control training
  • Coordinate training of the plant internal auditors.

  6. Manage Audits

  • Coordinates internal audit planning and execution, including plant, external warehouse, services providers.
  • Assures preparation and maintenance of all the certifications related to quality: standard Group certifications (ISO9001 and FSSC22000), certifications required by clients or local authorities.

  7. Manage Performance measurement

  • Monitors process indicators included consumers complaints and assures central data collection related to quality, certification and management system matters.
  • Monitors KPI and reports on the action plans progress to Plant Manager and to plant team
     
Who we are looking for:
  • 4 to 7 years of experience in a comparable environment 
  • Quality Assurance experience in a food manufacturing environment
  • Educational background in Food Safety/Microbiology/Food Science or related field is an asset
  • Knowledge of Food Safety programs and GMP’s
  • Knowledge of ISO Standards – ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000
  • Internal auditing experience is an asset
  • Ability to conduct presentations and training sessions
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong communication skills in a multi-cultural environment
  • Knowledge of Ferrero’s products and Quality/Food Safety standards
  • Knowledge of Ferrero company processes
