Simulation Lab Operations Specialist

The purpose of the position is to support the development and implementation of simulation based education across the Advocate system. They will partner with faculty and simulation education specialists to provide technical expertise on simulation. Reporting to the Director of System Simulation the position will provide support in establishing and achieving simulation~based education that aligns with strategic organizational outcomes. They will be involved in planning, launching and operations of simulation centers across the enterprise.


  • Acts as member of Learning Institutes teams to develop comprehensive system wide learning strategies, ensuring simulation is represented in our direction and priorities
  • Plan, schedule and implement/coordinate simulation based programs that promote safety, quality and service
  • Maintain equipment utilized in simulation
  • Maintain proficiency in existing and emerging quality, safety and simulation technologies
  • Collect and coordinate data in support of simulation activities
  • Internal and external stakeholder management


Position Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare simulation operations, technician/technologist/technology/IT work, or clinical experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Strong computer knowledge in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible with changing priorities
  • None Resiliency and flexibility to deal with a changing environment
  • Demonstrated problem~solving ability
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations
  • May be exposed to hazardous materials and life threatening diseases. Knowledge of universal precautions is a must.

  • Ability to move equipment and learning materials (up to 50 pounds)
