Manufacturing Engineering Manager II Job
About the Role:
Manages activities and allocates resources within the Manufacturing Engineering function to meet Divisional, Site, and Value Stream goals. Lead a group of Manufacturing Engineers and Technicians to design and develop tools, machines, controls, equipment, and processes to support manufacturing operations. A significant portion of the manager’s time is dedicated to team development, performance management, and strategic leadership responsibilities.
Your Responsibilities include:
- Serves as the manufacturing engineering lead for one or more of the Arden Hills manufacturing value streams or functional teams.
- Builds strong relationships and collaborates with R&D, Sustaining Engineering, Materials Engineering, and Process Development functions.
- Ensures that inputs from all customers are understood, Manufacturing Engineering plans are appropriately developed, and drives accountability and execution to plans.
- Excellent communication skills are vital, demonstrating leadership communicating both up and down the organization.
- Influences, guides, and manages internal/external resources to achieve program goals.
- Aligns resources and assures cross-divisional support, as well as identifies opportunities for improvement within the existing processes and systems.
- Provides significant guidance and approval regarding technical strategies and approaches.
- Recruits, coaches, and develops organizational talent.
- Fosters a diverse workplace that enables all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of organizational objectives.
- Creates an entrepreneurial environment.
- Provides direction and guidance to technician, engineer, and supervisory staff who exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments.

- Develops and executes organizational and operational policies that affect one or more groups by utilizing technical/professional knowledge and skills.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with company policies and procedures (e.g. compliance with FDA, BSI, EEO regulations, etc.).
- Makes decisions regarding work processes or operational plans and schedules in order to achieve department objectives.
- Develops, monitors, and appropriately adjusts the annual budget for one or more functional areas.
What We're Looking for:
Basic Qualifications:
- This position requires a Bachelor’s degree BS in Engineering
- 10 years of related work experience, and previous supervisory / management experience.
- Must have proven business acumen, effective communication skills, demonstrated track record of project management execution, and leadership experience.
- Must have experience managing and leading projects.
