Summary

Focuses on developing, identifying, and analyzing existing general business processes to ensure sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.

 

Responsibilities

1. Applies process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to identify, analyze, and improve business processes which will improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, and increase customer satisfaction.

2. Develops documentation to support analysis and improvement including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap/problem analysis.

3. Plans and implements quality assurance and compliance processes.

4. May support development of training and/or change management materials and activities to support new processes and procedures.

5. Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

6. Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes. Other duties as assigned. Career Type: Professional Individual contributors focused on executing operational, functional and/or business strategy, with a range of responsibilities in a professional discipline or specialty. The majority of time is spent on the delivery, implementation or design of processes, programs and polices using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education. May lead and/or organize the work of other lower level professionals, or manage processes and programs.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Requires practical knowledge and demonstrated competence within job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with limited experience Degree 
  • Requires theoretical knowledge, often gained through a combination of experience and/or advanced education, college / university degree (Bachelors)
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (LSS, PDCA, QA/QC tools, SPC, RCA, CAPA, statistical testing, MSA, time studies)
  • Prefer exposure to simulation used to solve complex business process challenges
  • Prefer exposure to project management processes / methodologies and be able to support projects, utilizing PM framework
  • Must have solid presentation and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Excel, and Project), statistical software (i.e. Minitab)

 

Years of Experience

  •  2 years of relevant work experience.

 

 Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Industrial/Systems Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.

 

Preferred Certifications / Licensure

  •  Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB)/Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification
  • Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB),
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMI PMP) certification(s) a strong plus

 

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the educational and the experience requirements.
