Wella is seeking an individual to join the Quality department with the focus on Nail products (OPI). The role covers a variety of responsibilities to ensure quality as per design as well as manufacturing quality at our Third Party Manufacturers (TPMs). The position is closely connected with R&D, Global Quality and with the Supply Chain. Due to this broad responsibility, the activities of this role are very diverse with the ultimate aim to satisfy our customers and consumers in line with regulatory compliance.



  • Works closely with R&D, Initiative Management, Site Initiative Leaders, Technical Packaging Technicians and Marketing teams to put Quality into Design through risk assessment and mitigation (FMEA)
  • Provides the business with the means to deliver safe and quality products and ensures the company is in compliance with GMPs and European/US regulatory agencies
  • Reviews any new test methods with the technical owner and implements them with the TPM
  • Leads the investigation of consumer/retailers/professional complaints and issues related to design and works with R&D to resolve them
  • Manages regular product inspections and the release process in SAP
  • Reports, manages and investigates product non-conformances in collaboration with the TPM and relevant functions within Wella
  • Monitors CAPA plans and the effectiveness of the actions
  • Elevate any major issues to the Division Design QA Leader and the EXO QA Sr. Manager
  • Takes an active role in qualification of TPMs and new vendors
  • Monitors the regulatory compliance and performance of the TPMs, conducts routine QA audits at TPMs and evaluates the observations
  • Prepares and analyzes monthly KPIs, followed by continuous improvement plans
  • Leads projects in collaboration with the TPMs such as the implementation of new processes and supports projects led by others departments



  • Represent the TPMs within the Wella network
  • Represent Wella Quality towards the TPM



  • 5+ years of experience in Quality or technical development of Cosmetics or related products
  • BSc in life sciences discipline or other technical degree, i.e. Chemistry, Process Engineering, Biology, or Engineering etc., required
  • Strong knowledge in cosmetic GMP and quality standards
  • Experience as quality auditor
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong intercultural and communication skills (internally and externally), ability to act confidently and to overcome barriers with external parties
  • Ability to work independently with effective problem-solving skills
  • Strong analytical, process and project management skills
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to use Office and SAP



  • Practical experience in the analytical or micro lab and with product/equipment validations, mainly on the setting of success criteria and cleaning & sanitization
  • Practical experience with management of non-conformances including systematic problem-solving tools
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes including Making, Filling and Packing processes
  • Mindset of continuous improvement
  • Customer and results oriented way of working
