US/Canada Procure to Pay Manager

Purpose

Delivery and governance of US/Canada (sites and regional offices) Sourcing, Procurement and Accounts Payable scope for Newmont goods and services.

Manages the day-to-day service delivery of our outsource service provider's from delivery sites in Pune, India and Monterrey, Mexico.

Accountable for delivery of continuous improvement projects within P2P that will increase the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Newmont's Source to Pay Process

Partner with site Supply Chain, end-users and key stakeholders to drive compliance of Newmont Standards and procedures, and Legal requirements

Lead/ supports strategic projects to improve Supply Chain efficiency and effectiveness

Essential Duties

Operational management – for all managed service US/Canada Source to Pay scope, track and maintain operational delivery, performance metrics, action items, issues/ risks 25%

Effectively manage the outsourced provider scope in order to provide timely sourcing and procurement of goods and services by utilizing standardized processes and Standards (POs, sourcing, contracts, and non-PO invoice support) that are compliant to key business/SOX controls.

Effectively manage the outsourced provider scope in order to provide timely invoice processing/management and payment processing by utilizing standardized processes and Standards that are compliant to key business/SOX controls, while improving customer service levels.

P2P Governance – integrate the Newmont governance model, including:

Responsible for all retained (non-site owned) Source to Pay activity scope and leading internal in-country team

Track and manage outsourced provider’s execution to sourcing plans and contractual performance metrics

Main point of contact for coordination of issue resolution and risk tracking/mitigation. Track and report on partner concerns and issues that have operational impact

Implementation of Business Services Playbook, and other operating system cadence (meetings, reporting, etc.) including management of contract approval process (SIC/RIC process) 30%

Partner management – communication with wide range of partners at US/Canada sites/ offices, including Regional/Site leadership, Regional/Site Supply Chain, Accounts Payable, Finance, Legal and Tax 20%

Transformation/ Continuous Improvement –

Support the implementation of global Supply Chain transformational projects in Source to Pay functional area (including SAP/Concur landscape, corporate credit card program)

Review, prioritize, and track pipeline of continuous improvement opportunities and process standardization opportunities for activities related to the US/Canada P2P process.

Training & Experience

Knowledge:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Accounting/ Finance, IT or related field

Experience:

3-5 years of directly related Supply Chain (Sourcing, Procurement and Accounts Payable), project management experience or equivalent combination of training and experience are vital.

Mining experience preferred, but not required.

Skills and Abilities:

Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to deal calmly and effectively with conflict resolution required.

Strong computer skills using office software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Knowledge of SAP or equivalent enterprise-level software packages (Procurement and Finance module) is vital.

Excellent written/ verbal communication and relationship-building skills.

Working Conditions
  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.
  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.
