The Business Analyst Contributes to the overall success of the eCommerce Enablement Team in defining the business and technical requirements of our enterprise platform Adobe Experience Manager. The eCommerce Business Analyst will ensure specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. They will also ensure all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

  • Ideally, you have an Engineering or Computer Science degree, and pride yourself on analysis, logical thinking and problem-solving skills with a lean and agile mentality.

  • Identify and report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make platform recommendations to cross-functional teams.
  • Identify and report on common sources of technical issues and support teams in quickly finding a resolution
  • Stays on the lookout for ways to improve monitoring, discover issues and deliver better value to the platform and the digital customer experience.
  • Lead with a strategic mindset and understands the platform principles of reusability and scalability.
  • Work with cross-functional teams in determining the best edge cases to support reusability across the platform.
  • Define and document the platform user requirements while keeping an eye out for any process important opportunities.
  • Requirements definition or clarification and writing/updating agile stories.
  • Support with backlog grooming and prioritization and participates in test case definition and user acceptance testing.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed?

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. Basic knowledge of programming languages to comprehend reading code and basic functions.
  • Intermediate or advanced experience working with Adobe Experience Manager
  • Ideally has Adobe Certified Business Practitioner certification
  • Other industry-related certifications such as CBAP
  • Working knowledge in the use of JIRA/Confluence
  • Strong communication and business writing skills
  • Analytical and creative thinking and practical problem-solving skills
  • Intermediate or advanced level knowledge of SDLC
