Research & Development Technician 


Function Overview 
Responsibilities for this position include; Software testing, building test stands and functional prototypes of new designs. This position requires working as a team member with all levels of the Fall River Engineering team as well as some travel for training on Product Approval (PA) or codes based testing for certification. This position will participate in all lab activities ranging from design validation testing to lab development/organization.

 

Job Description 

  • Travel up to 20% (Upon company approval to travel post Covid-19 restrictions)  for training or technician certification. 
  • Validation testing for software development, reliability, machine performance and safety.
  • Assist in or lead prototype building and test fixture creation to support new or existing designs. 
  • Capture and report out detailed lab report summaries. 

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Technical Associate's degree in a mechanical or electrical discipline or High School Diploma/GED and 2+ years of experience in a testing environment of mechanical or electrical devices.
  • Experience with creating or repairing mechanical or electrical systems 

 

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience with mechanical and electrical systems preferred
  • Strong organizational skills reflecting your ability to make fact-based decisions
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to reach common goals 
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Effective communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team 
  • Ability to read/understand product/component drawings and schematics. 
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and expectations
