Administrative Officer

Administrative Officer- Fire District


The Administrative Officer position is responsible for the direct oversight of the administrative functions within Douglas County Fire District No. 2. Work involves assisting the Fire Chief or designee in the administration, direction, and coordination of District administrative and financial functions and programs. Primary functions include overall responsibility for coordination and administration of the District’s budgets, financial reporting, payroll administration, accounts payable, District benefits administration, bank account administration, special assessments, treasury bonded debt, and other areas as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or public/business administration is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of four years progressively responsible experience in finance (public finance experience preferred) and accounting affording a knowledge of local, state, and federal laws.
  • Experience in payroll administration, accounts payable, and knowledge in the administrative components of benefit program management.


Salary range for this position is $78,111-$87,301 a year.
