Are you a team leader that excels at motivating others to successfully execute projects and meet deadlines while prioritizing demands?  If so, we would like you to join our team.  The Office of Undergraduate Admissions of the University of Cincinnati is hiring an Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Marketing.  The ideal candidate has the ability to lead a team in implementing a multifaceted marketing, event, and visit programming strategy, manage a wide range of responsibilities related to prospective student engagement, and coordinate functions with significant impact on external relations.    

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the development, implementation, and administration of strategic goals related to student engagement within the admissions process including marketing and communication efforts, social media engagement, and event and visit experiences
  • Ensure a cohesive and engaging experience for prospective students throughout their time interacting with the Office of Admissions; includes oversight of messaging and branding, advisement and revision of language used within recruitment efforts, and evaluation of in-person or virtual event/visit experiences
  • Using the office’s CRM tool, Technolutions Slate, analyze data regarding the effectiveness of various communication plans and visit or event opportunities and adjust the plan accordingly
  • Provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff responsible for execution of marketing, communication, visit, and event efforts (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.); supervise a team that executes communication plans and event/visit programming by helping staff prioritize tasks effectively, assisting in the creation of workflows, and holding staff accountable to deadlines
  • Assist in determining budget needs for respective area
  • Collaborate with the Director to evaluate past or current engagement efforts, develop new communication plans and event/visit opportunities as recruitment needs shift and evolve
  • Advise and maintain liaison with leaders of various projects and programs on campus and in outside agencies such as community organizations, vendors, and school/college partners
  • Evaluate applications for admission and make admission decisions within established guidelines
  • Meet with prospective students and their parents on the admissions process, academic programs, and campus life
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in related educational program, student affairs administration, counseling, or other related field with at least one (1) year of experience - OR- Bachelor's degree with three (3) year of experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- seven (7) years of experience; experience must be in a related field such as marketing, campus visit/event planning, admissions/recruitment
     

Additional Qualifications:

  • Prior work with a customer relationship manager (CRM) and the associated communication and event tool like Technolutions Slate
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic marketing approaches
  • Experience supervising student or professional staff
