Primary ALS Faculty Paramedic - .5 Day

Position Requirements:
Graduate of a Paramedic program with a minimum of 5 year post license experience

Bachelors Degree

Knowledge of the current DOT Paramedic National Education Standards

1 year experience teaching at the paramedic level, primary continuing education

Knowledge of Advanced Life
Support equipment

Use of Microsoft Professional Office and EMS tracking software programs
Illinois EMT~Paramedic License

AHA HCP BLS ACLS, Instructor

Purpose:
The Primary ALS Faculty Paramedic works in collaboration with the EMS Educator Coordinator for the Paramedic Program serving as a leader and advisor for the content and delivery of content related to the psychomotor domain. The individual in this position provides input on the integration of the cognitive and affective domain components of the psychomotor domain of student learning.and all other related courses and respective continuing education in accordance with the National Department of Transportation National Paramedic Education Standards and the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Act and the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH).

Accountabilities:
Provide efficient laboratory psychomotor skill laboratory session design, lesson plans, instruction, remediation and evaluation.
Assist in the coordination, teaching and evaluation in specialty classes, such as AHA HCP CPR, ACLS, PALS, AMLS and PHTLS.
Provide a summary of strengths and weakness regarding student and contract faculty performance in all laboratory and evaluation sessions. Provide the Education Coordinator all contract faculty laboratory and evaluation session evaluation forms for student completion within 1 week of the scheduled session.
