Department Overview

 

The men and women of Electric Operations ensure the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers. Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG&E's electric distribution and transmission operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration and emergency response.

 

Position Summary

 

Supports an effective and efficient safety risk management program. Develops and implements a risk management framework. Analyzes risks and develops mitigation plans. Develops and maintains an asset risk register. Coordinates with the assets owners across the line of business to track operational and enterprise risks and the execution and effectiveness of risk mitigation activities. Serves as a liaison with the enterprise risk management function to ensure alignment and common understanding of risks. Prepares analysis and reports for the line of business and the enterprise.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develops and coordinates the preparation of presentation materials for various levels of management, including executives
  • May participates in established risk management forums at the enterprise level
  • Works with Electric Operations business clients to develop, implement, and monitor appropriate risk mitigation activities and controls
  • Perform risk assessments to identify and prioritize safety, operational, regulatory, financial, technology, reputation, and other business risks
  • Identify key controls for each business process, assess effectiveness of controls and support development of control improvements
  • Supports development of best practices in risk management across Electric Operations
  • Coordinates with the asset owners across the line of business to track operational and enterprise risks and the execution and effectiveness of risk mitigation activities
  • Obtain, review, and interpret evidence provided to validate action items are resolved
  • Capture and report metrics for services and activities delivered to customers and/or as part of internal initiatives
  • Supports and develops materials for Risk and Compliance Committee (RCC) meetings, Session D, Session 1, Session 2
  • Support the EO Risk Management Sr. Manager as needed
  • Support activities to strengthen the Risk Management Program

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum:

 

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in risk management, or related, 7 years

 

Desired:

 

  • Masters Degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge in understanding compliance and risk assessment issues
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Visio skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Background in process development and process improvement
