Department Overview


The Corporate Safety and Health organization is a team of dedicated safety professionals committed to using their skills and experience to keep our employees safe.  The organization works closely with all lines of business providing the vision for enterprise wide programs to meet PG&E’s objectives of safety and health. The program managers are a trusted resource for safety related information.  This team also provides oversight to ensure that all contractors delivering services for the programs.  


Position Summary


Oversee and manage contractor services for Industrial Athlete program. Have a good understanding of both industrial and office ergonomics to support those programs. Work with lines of business to deploy industrial athlete process across enterprise.  Work with key stake holders to adopt governing documents to clearly define and describe scope, objective purpose, roles and responsibilities of all individuals engaged in or supporting industrial athlete. Develop key metrics to monitor program effectiveness in reducing industrial based musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) injuries.  Train and onboard contract staff in the industrial athlete services. Work closely with lead program manager on continuous improvement of programs. Define strategy and prioritize projects to align with department goals and fostering integration of projects into larger pilots. Coordinate with other ergonomic program managers for effective adoption and utilization. Track and manage budget; arrange for data collection, tracking, recording, and dashboard reporting. Collaborate with lines of business teams to fulfill all reporting requirements. Ability to build operational processes, perform or assist with task analysis, and assist Line of Business Industrial Teams to progress and document new evaluations.  


The work location is flexible within the Bay Area.



Job Responsibilities  


  • Develops, implements, monitors and maintains programs, systems, policies and procedures required to ensure regulatory compliance and the overall safety and health of employees and the community.
  • Creates safety standards and policies that meet regulatory compliance and represent best practices.
  • Recognizes, evaluates, recommends and implements PG&E Safety policies and procedures to assure awareness of and compliance with Safety requirements.
  • Makes presentations to senior leadership as well as communicating program philosophy, information, and operational policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that quality control procedures are established to compliance.
  • Must keep fully informed on all existing and proposed changes in occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Develops and provides Safety training to Company employees.
  • Develops and implements programs including leading coordination and facilitating of program review sessions with leaders and/or functional groups to review costs, schedule and program effectiveness.
  • Highly effective communication skills





  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7 years of safety and program development/management experience in a construction or utility environment  



  • CPE Experience in safety, ergo, and biomechanics
  • Proficiency in office suite
  • Advanced knowledge of PG&E safety procedures, the Code of Safe Practices and organizational safety-related processes and procedures
  • Advanced knowledge of CalOSHA general industry and construction safety orders and other recognized safety regulations and standards (e.g., ANSI, NFPA, FedOSHA, etc)
  • Ability to interpret and implement safety regulations to improve the PG&E safety culture Advanced knowledge of key PG&E organizations and their potential exposure to safety and health risks  
Salary Range
$109,000.00 - 165,000.00
