The Maintenance Technician performs troubleshooting and repairs of industrial equipment. Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems is required.  This position utilizes the Technician’s skills and knowledge to accurately and efficiently evaluate the necessary repairs required to return equipment to safe and functional operating condition.



  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment performance and prevent downtime.
  • Conduct basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work as pertains to machine tool and facility repairs.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Perform removal, repair and reinstallation of machinery and subcomponents.
  • Expedite equipment repairs utilizing existing documentation, outside service organizations, and or research other informational sources. 
  • Diagnose equipment failures and performance issues.
  • Adjust mechanical and electrical systems of machinery to OEM specifications utilizing test instrumentation and tooling. 
  • Safely operate power equipment, lifting equipment used in repairs or installations.
  • Ensure that standard regulatory procedures are followed in all aspects of work including lockout/tagout, hot work, material handling, etc.
  • Act as a role model, coach and train for new associates to foster a team environment.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Identify, remove or secure for transport hazardous materials or hazardous wastes in approved containers to various areas as directed.  Specialized training and certification in DOT hazardous materials transportation and RCRA are required.  Sign Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests Line 15 Generator’s certification.
  • Maintain work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned. 


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended period of time.
  • Fine motor skills with frequent hand and arm movement.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Moderate twisting and bending.
  • Moderate climbing on ladders or platforms. 


Unusual Environmental Conditions 

  • Loud machining environment; exposure to aerospace metals, lubricants and chemicals. 


Required Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Safety glasses, EH hazard rated safety shoes, hearing protection may be required or other personal protective equipment as needed. 



  • US Citizen or a permanent resident. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent. 
  • 5 years of maintenance experience. 
  • General machinery repair knowledge. 
  • Basic electrical, plumbing, and carpentry knowledge. 
  • Industrial mathematics skills. 
  • Solid understanding of machine tool geometries.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics/drawings.
  • Solid understanding of machine tool geometries.
  • Ability to set, use or setup various measuring devises.
  • Solid problem solving skills with the ability to implement a logical troubleshooting sequence in an effort to isolate the problematic component
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer skills
