Manager, Ecommerce Merchandising & Conversion Rate Optimization

About the Role

This is a critical role for the Ecommerce team, this role will help define future growth strategies, drive & continuously optimize websites for better conversion & optimum customer experience both pre & post purchase. Find & implement website operational efficiencies and champion positive change. Drive strong sales growth through data-driven decisions.

Your Team

This position will report directly to the Director, Ecommerce and will have one direct report; Ecommerce Merchandising Lead.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and oversee implementation of effective merchandising strategies, including conversion optimization, site optimization, and promotional messaging with strong attention to detail.
  • Ensure that HARMAN’s products and brands are well represented across all channels and markets, appropriate promotions are developed and placed, and that all opportunities for growth are identified and executed with attention to detail.
  • Own and optimize the customer experience including conversion funnel from the time they land on the website till they convert, as well as post-purchase experience. Plan and manage A/B Tests.
  • Partner with Ecommerce marketing team with deliverables required to launch promotions and drive sales
  • Measure and report on results of Ecommerce merchandising by utilizing web analytics dashboards and SAP reporting and creating other reports to support the business needs.
  • Responsible for inventory forecasts, overseeing proper allocation, and closely monitoring velocity during peak seasons.
  • Collaborate with National Marketing & Sales Team, Online Marketplace team, Finance, Creative Team, Operations, and Customer Service for seamless execution as required.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities by meeting with Ecommerce vendors and determining potential effort & ROI of various eCommerce projects
  • Partner with the Global Marketing team on the management of the Salesforce Commerce Global Ecommerce Platform (formerly known as DemandWare)
  • Identify inaccuracies on branded sites and marketplaces and present solutions where applicable, while ensuring that inaccuracies are resolved.
  • Maintain awareness of competitive benchmarks, best practices, market trends, and competitive activity.


What You Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in executing online merchandising for an Internet Retailer; preferably in the consumer electronics industry
  • Technical competence – Understanding of online merchandising mechanisms
  • Solid planning and organization skills – Ability to manage multiple, simultaneous complex projects and schedules.
  • Good collaboration skills – Ability to effectively collaborate with people and teams from all functions within Harman across all of our global regions.
  • Demonstrated creativity and out-of-the box thinking – Constantly pushing new ideas and programs to solve sales and market challenges.
  • Strategically and operationally strong – Ability to synthesize complex information into a simple strategy and then execute against this strategy.
  • Business acumen – Solid business and analytical background.
  • Communication Skills - Exceptional written, verbal and presentation abilities.



What is Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree in business or related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience.
  • Experience as a business user with using SAP, PIM, DAM, DemandWare platforms a plus.
