Strategic Account Manager - Lowes

Position Summary:

The Strategic Account Manager reports to the National Account Manager and is responsible for helping manage day-to-day activities with Lowe’s Home Improvement, including implementation of strategic initiatives, to drive sales growth across the full James Hardie product portfolio at the account.  This role provides an opportunity to partner with a cross-functional team within James Hardie and at Lowe’s to gather market and customer insights, influence the strategy, and deliver on the retail account execution game plan. 

As a member of the James Hardie Retail and Interiors business unit, this role will be responsible for:

 Position Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with sales and category analyses to drive insights and action plans
  • Responding to and getting resolution on escalated customer inquiries and concerns from stores, market leadership, and corporate personnel
  • Partnering with internal, cross-functional teams to secure resources and support for the customer
  • Driving alignment and execution of key initiatives with regional and district level store management
  • Supporting internal business partners in navigating Lowe’s to resolve issues, bring clarity to processes, and ensure JH initiatives are executed
  • Assisting with planning and implementation of in-store point of purchase initiatives and updates; sharing “voice of customer” during development phase and supporting in-store execution
  • Developing & delivering training on James Hardie products and processes
  • Leading timely execution of projects that align with business objectives
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities that improve customer experience and drive operational efficiencies to enable growth

 Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably working with or for a large retail account
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong customer partnerships
  • Ability to address customer requests in a timely and efficient manner
  • Bias for self-structure with strong project management capabilities
  • Ability to master and leverage all customer accessible reporting systems and tools; prior experience conducting sales analysis is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and maintain positive relationships
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite including experience working with large data sets in Excel
  • Experience presenting data & insights with confidence to team members, customers, and business leadership both in informal and formal presentation settings
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously while delivering complete and accurate work on time
  • Travel Requirements - approximately 30%
