The Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) is recognized internationally forits clinical, educational and research excellence. Our faculty are clinical and academic leaders who are breaking new ground on issues ranging from inner city health, addiction medicine, global health, palliative care, immigrant and indigenous health, and far more.

As the Enrolment Assistant, Physician Assistant (PA) program, you will review, assess and verify admissions applications to the Physician Assistant Program,a full-time professional, second-entry undergraduate degree program based in DFCM and delivered in collaboration with Northern Ontario School of Medicine and the Michener Institute of Education at the University Health Network. The three institutions have formed the Consortium of PA Education to collaboratively contribute in the development, administration and delivery of this University of Toronto degree. In consultation with enrolment services, you will determine the eligibility of applications and provide admissions support to the PA admissions process. Your exceptional organizational skills, time management, attention to detail and accuracy will contribute the efficiency of the PA Program admissions process.

Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Reviewing, assessing and verifying eligibility of admissions applications in collaboration and consultation with Enrolment Services
  • Determining the completeness of applications and which applications to refer to committee for selection
  • Responding to routine admissions and awards enquiries and referring complex enquiries as appropriate
  • Preparing draft correspondence, taking and distributing minutes
  • Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures
  • Determining logistical details required for the execution of admissions processes and organizing materials for events
  • Preparing draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected, including analyzing, scoring and ranking incoming applications
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items

 

+Essential Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years of related student services experience (i.e. admissions), preferably in a University and/or hospital environment
  • Experience in managing multiple priorities with conflictingdeadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain web-based information and applications
  • Proven ability to interact effectively with students and the public
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical skills
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability coordinating and organizing complex schedules
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office with particular proficiency in database and spreadsheet applications, internet and email applications
  • Demonstrated experience drafting statistical reports and summaries from datacollected, including developing tables and charts
  • Familiarity with enterprise video communication platforms (E.g. Zoom, MS Teams)

USW Pay Band 09 -- $58,242 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $74,482. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
