Academic Enrichment Coordinator



Position Summary


The Academic Enrichment Resource Coordinator oversees Suns virtual programming and educational support/resources offered to children of our team members in the pre-school and elementary school age ranges. They curate virtual programming by developing schedules and content, and securing the resources necessary to provide an enriching, engaging virtual experience for participants in our Back-to-School with Sun program.

This position requires flexibility in hours to meet the needs of student and parent schedules. 

This position is based in a virtual environment and can be remote.



  1. Develops educational and engaging, age-appropriate virtual content covering various academic and social areas; contracts out or coordinates with internal team members of other areas as applicable.
  2. Leads/teaches delivery of all content for the pre-school and elementary participants; contracts out content as applicable.
  3. Ensures content is being broadcast consistently and in in high quality; effectively troubleshoots issues when they arise with or without assistance from Sun Technical Support.
  4. Conducts routine check-ins with participants and parents to ensure the content provided resonates with the target audience and achieves the primary objective of keeping kids busy and engaged with meaningful activities when they are not in school.
  5. Develops and enforces policies and expectations of the program framework as well as a communication format to keep parents well-informed.
  6. Effectively communicates any issues that may arise with parents during sessions, as escalated from the tutors or other teachers.
  7. Creates and maintains a system for tutors and educational specialists to log sessions; maintains records.
  8. Builds and maintains positive relationships with students and their parents participating in the program.
  9. Maintains a growth mindset approach toward learning.
  10. Assists in resolving any technical or connectivity issues during the session or escalates to IT as necessary.
  11. Maintains confidentiality of students and information related to their sessions and learning; reports concerns that may arise during the session and escalates issues to leadership accordingly.
  12. Provides program updates and progress regularly to leadership; suggests program improvements or enhancements as they see fit.
  13. Other duties assigned.



  • Bachelor's Degree in in Education or equivalent experience working with children. (Required)
  • 2 years Experience creating and managing educational programming for small group learning.
  • 1 year Experience teaching or tutoring in both an in-person and virtual environment.
  • 1 year Experience using programs including Microsoft Office, Zoom, Outlook.
  • Ability to ensure a quiet, uninterrupted area for online learning, stable internet connection.
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be patient, positive and consistent with students.
  • Friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback utilizing a gentle approach.
  • Ability to communicate complex information to a format that is easy to understand.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills.
