PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Under the direction of Laboratory Manager and leadership of the Technicians Class II,III & IV performs basic laboratory procedure.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Responsible for performing a variety of routine laboratory operations utilizing basic knowledge of laboratory procedures. 

 

Responsible for basic set-up and operation of laboratory instrumentation.

 

Collects, evaluates and analyzes production samples and provides findings/feedback.  Makes decisions on whether samples pass or need further review.  Responsible for accurately recording data and completing required documentation to ensure high quality standards are maintained.

 

Responsible for clearly communicating results to production personnel in support of operations.

 

Assists higher level technicians in laboratory equipment set-up and testing.

 

 

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

 

Responsible for maintaining the assigned equipment and area in accordance to company standards. Adheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional image.

 

Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

 

Performs all other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Normally requires a High School degree or the equivalent thereof.   Requires a basic understanding of mathematical functions.

 

Experience and basic understanding of laboratory best practices, inventory development and management, health, safety and environmental regulatory compliance, and product knowledge and proficiency including lubricants. 

 

Can exhibit proficiency in basic laboratory procedures.

 

Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.

 

Proven team building skills and the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. 

 

Demonstrated planning, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

 

Ability to frequently lift up to 60lbs.

 

Ability to work hours other than those considered normal to meet seasonal demands.

 

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
