The Headlines:  

In the role of Manager, Tax Technology & Reporting working in Milwaukee, you will be the company subject matter expert related to Tax Technologies, with primary focus on administration of our Corptax compliance and provision software.  You will be responsible for answering questions and troubleshooting Corptax issues that come up during the compliance and provision process.  You will set up new users and master data in Corptax within the compliance and provision modules to ensure both areas are up to date and accurate.  You will be responsible for performing the regular Corptax updates, rolling the software over to the new year, and notifying the team of new installation requirements.  You will also work with tax personnel to identify ways to optimize use of Corptax and Corptax Office, assist with setup of new Corptax functionality, and train the team on new functionality.  You will work with the global tax team to develop the overall technology strategy to provide efficiencies to the team, build the business case for implementation, and lead the implementation of approved projects.  You will also engage the global tax teams to provide training and development as needed.  This role will also assist with preparation of our quarterly tax provision and footnote disclosures, and will assist with preparation / review of federal and state income tax compliance as required.   

 

You will report directly to our Director of Tax Reporting & Compliance and will work closely with other members of the global tax team, corporate finance, Advanced Analytics, and other internal and external stakeholders.

 

 The Responsibilities: 

  • Administer our Corptax compliance and provision modules including Corptax Office.
  • Lead the use of Tax technologies to leverage existing software and enhance capabilities through in-house training.
  • Responsible for proactively pursuing options to move existing software platforms to newer versions.
  • Coordinate with global tax segments to identify areas where tax technologies could improve their processes and/or reporting accuracy and timeliness, and build a business case for the change.  If approved, lead the implementation efforts.     
  • Manage special projects aimed at promoting the efficiency and integrity of the income tax provision and compliance process, with a strong focus on technology.
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of quarterly calculations to report income taxes pursuant to US GAAP principles under ASC740, including global consolidation, ETR, discretes, valuation allowances, FIN 48, tax entries, and footnote disclosures.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly provision and ETR reports for internal management meetings.
  • Assist with the review of implications of SEC and FASB pronouncements impacting the quarter tax provision.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of federal and state income tax compliance.

 

 The Other Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or computer science.  Master’s in taxation, CPA a plus.
  • You have at least 5 years of Corptax experience, including an understanding of overall Corptax functionality for purposes of trouble shooting and administering the software.
  • Corptax Office, SAP, BPC, Vertex tax compliance, ETL, RPA, visualization software knowledge are a plus. 
  • Desire to develop the technology strategy for the tax department, with a natural curiosity to explore the options available in the industry, and analyze of the best solutions for the tax team to optimize processes and reduce risk for the company.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles – GAAP.
  • Knowledge of tax laws and financial and tax accounting principles.
  • You can interact effectively with peers to identify issues, build consensus, and provide direction while maintaining a balance between technical and interpersonal skills.
