As part of the Data Office, the Manager, Sensitivity & Privacy Advisory Services Analytics contributes to the overall success of the Customer Insights, Data & Analytics team through sensitivity review assessments and programmatic process improvements and assisting in managing privacy impact assessments while providing proactive and trusted advice on data and privacy-related matters across Scotiabank’s footprint.




  • Works with Analytics & Data Office teams to assist in development & maintenance of  Privacy programs that support these areas of Bank.
  • Works in cross-functional agile teams, providing guidance on data privacy to data and analytics projects.
  • Conducts and reviews Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) for both new Data and Analytics initiatives
  • Conducts Sensitive Data reviews to determine the level of protection required for data that is moving within the bank.
  • Provides advice, counsel and process enhancements for Data & Analytics with respect to initiatives and procedures.
  • Builds strategic relationships across the organization and with counterparts in Customer Insights, Data & Analytics, Compliance, Legal 
  • Ensure consistency and alignment on best practices across the organization.
  • Supports the development of business area specific privacy procedures, guidelines and business requirements.


Requirements & Qualifications:


  • Ability to drive success in a high performing, flexible and small team environment;
  • Knowledge of privacy-related compliance requirements;
  • Strong analytical and communication skills and an ability to communicate and convey technical concepts into “layman terms”;
  • Results orientation and pragmatic approach to decision making;
  • Self-motivated, solution driven individual and adaptable to a fast-paced environment;
  • Background in Operations, Technology or Banking preferable.
  • Knowledge of data mining, analytical and business intelligence principles and queries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related fields is preferred
  • Experience working in an Agile team environment, comfortable with OO programming.
  • Privacy certification nice to have (i.e. CIPP)
