Description

This role provides key support to the reserving, capital management and assumption setting functions of the ANZ Valuation team.

You will support quarterly reporting of financials of SCOR’s Australia & New Zealand business on the group basis.

This is a 12‑month full-time contract position as maternity leave cover,with a planned start date in mid-August 2026, based in Sydney and reports to the Head of Life & Health Reserving, AN.

Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities

Calculate insurance contract liabilities including impacts of assumption, model changes and sensitivities

Upload cashflow projection data and estimates into reserving systems

Ensure correct data flow to downstream systems

Explain financial results including analysis of change

Propose reserving assumptions based on experience study results

Setup and run Prophet cashflow projection models

Perform user acceptance testing of model changes as required

Quality Assurance and Business Process Optimisation

Assess reasonableness of projections and financial results

Validate data quality in SCOR reserving systems

Execute controls in the valuation process

Respond to internal reviewers’ queries

Connect with SCOR’s Asia-Pacific actuarial community

Qualifications

Experience

Fully qualified actuary or partially qualified actuary progressing through exams

Knowledge of IFRS17 essential

Life insurance financial reporting or valuation experience required

Highly proficient user (coding not required) of Prophet actuarial projection system

Advanced Excel skills

Advanced SQL and Python programming skills

Agile, resilient and comfortable with handling ambiguity, shifting priorities, adapts quickly to new information and requirements

Inquisitive and analytical mindset knowing links between data, systems and processes

Capable of balancing precision and practical business mindset

Effective written and oral communication skills

Required Education

Associate or Fellow of the Actuaries Institute of Australia (or equivalent)

Relevant degree in an actuarial studies, commerce or related field
