Job Requirements
Valid Kansas (KS) or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license required at time of submission
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
NIHSS certification preferred
Minimum 1 year Med/Surg RN experience required (2 years preferred)
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
Telemetry experience preferred — ability to manage stable remote telemetry patients
Comfort floating to similar units within scope of practice
Typical patient ratio experience: 5–6 patients per nurse
Responsibilities
Deliver safe, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse medical conditions
Monitor and manage stable remote telemetry patients (not on cardiac drips)
Administer medications, blood products, and manage IVs and infusions
Provide wound care, feeding tube management, and colostomy/ileostomy care
Follow isolation precautions and use PPE appropriately
Float to like units as needed to support staffing and patient care
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Social Work to coordinate patient care
Participate in orientation, complete required modules, and follow facility policies
Work weekend shifts as scheduled by the unit
