Location: West London, UK (Site-based with flexible working options)

About the company

A tier 2 contractor specialising in delivering M&E engineering solutions for some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure projects.

Project sectors include transportation, utilities, and energy sectors—driving innovation, safety, and excellence from concept to completion.

They are proud to be playing a key role in the one of the UK’s most significant transport infrastructure developments, and they are looking for a driven Commercial Lead with Tier 1 and/or Tier 2 contractor experience to join the project leadership team.

The Role

As the Commercial Lead, you will take strategic ownership of all commercial and contractual matters on the project. You will work closely with project directors, client representatives, and supply chain partners to ensure robust commercial governance, maximised value, and the successful delivery of this landmark scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial management activities for the project.
  • Manage contract administration in line with NEC 3 contracts and company procedures.
  • Drive cost control, forecasting, and risk management processes.
  • Negotiate with clients and supply chain to secure best-value outcomes.
  • Provide commercial insight to support strategic decision-making.
  • Mentor and support junior commercial staff within the project team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and corporate governance.

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior commercial role within the construction, rail, or infrastructure sectors for Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC 3 contracts.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-profile project environment.
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (RICS accreditation desirable).
