Description

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Pacific Tax team at Marsh. This role will be based in Sydney or Melbourne and is a hybrid role requiring at least three days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Provide tax advisory support and direction on general tax matters across the Pacific region
  • Identify risks and opportunities, and manage tax projects to support effective tax rate management and compliance requirements
  • Analyse and recommend tax positions, engaging with key stakeholders to ensure clear communication and understanding
  • Support quarterly and year‑end group tax reporting and compliance processes, reviewing income tax provisions and tax returns
  • Manage regional tax reviews, audits, and dispute resolution initiatives in collaboration with Controllership and Finance teams
  • Work with the global Transfer Pricing team to manage transfer pricing analysis and service characterisation for tax purposes

Qualifications

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant tax experience covering direct tax, international tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing, ideally from public accounting practice and/or in‑house tax roles
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a matrix environment
  • Proven track record of working on tax issues in the Pacific region

Preferred Qualifications

  • Understanding of Australian and New Zealand tax principles
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to develop tax culture within business and functional areas
  • Experience supporting tax implications for M&A activities, restructuring, treasury funding, and equity investment issues
