Overview
A client I'm working with based in Hertfordshire is recruiting for Head of Housing on an interim basis for the initial course of 6-9 months.
Working pattern: Hybrid
Rate: Negotiable
This role is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational delivery of tenancy services across the council’s housing stock. The role oversees tenancy management, neighbourhood services, and frontline housing operations to ensure safe, sustainable tenancies and strong community outcomes.
Responsibilities
Duties of the role:
- Lead and manage frontline teams responsible for tenancy management, neighbourhood services, estate management, and resident engagement.
- Oversee tenancy sustainment, including the management of tenancy breaches, anti-social behaviour, and enforcement actions where required.
- Ensure services are compliant with relevant housing legislation, regulatory standards, and council policies.
- Drive service improvement, performance management, and customer satisfaction across housing management functions.
- Manage service budgets, resources, and contracts to ensure effective and value-for-money service delivery.
- Develop and implement policies, strategies, and procedures relating to tenancy and neighbourhood management.
- Work collaboratively with internal departments, registered providers, and external partners to support residents and maintain stable communities.
- Provide senior leadership support to wider housing services and contribute to the council’s broader housing and community objectives.
