Description

Methodist Health System is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team, supporting our mission to improve and save lives with compassionate, high-quality care. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced cardiovascular laboratory environment, collaborating closely with interventional cardiologists, nurses, and other professionals to provide safe, accurate, and timely invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. Consistent with our culture of integrity, compassion, and accountability, you will play a critical part in ensuring exceptional patient experiences and clinical outcomes.

The Cardiovascular Technologist RCIS will assist with a full range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, including coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention, peripheral vascular interventions, and other invasive cardiac studies. You will prepare procedure rooms, verify and set up equipment, and maintain strict sterile technique throughout each case. During procedures, you will operate imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems, scrub in to assist with device and catheter manipulation, and circulate as needed to support the care team, ensuring all supplies, medications, and equipment are readily available.

Key responsibilities include performing patient assessments before, during, and after procedures; explaining procedures and addressing patient questions to reduce anxiety; and continuously monitoring vital signs, heart rhythm, and hemodynamic parameters. You will document all aspects of the procedure in the electronic medical record with accuracy and timeliness, contribute to quality assurance activities, and assist with post-procedure recovery and patient transport as appropriate. You will follow established protocols for radiation safety, infection prevention, and contrast media use, and promptly recognize and respond to procedural complications or emergencies in collaboration with the physician and nursing staff.

The ideal candidate brings solid technical expertise in cardiovascular imaging and invasive procedures, strong critical-thinking skills, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure. You should be comfortable working in an on-site, procedure-based environment that may require rotating shifts, on-call coverage, and occasional weekends or holidays to support emergent cases. Professionalism, effective communication, and respect for patients, families, and coworkers are essential, reflecting Methodist Health System’s collaborative and inclusive culture.

Candidates should have formal training as a Cardiovascular Technologist, with an associate degree or higher in cardiovascular technology or a related field preferred. The Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential is required or must be obtained within a specified time after hire, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications. Prior experience in a cardiac cath lab, electrophysiology lab, or interventional radiology setting is highly desirable. In return, Methodist Health System offers a competitive compensation package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan, and opportunities for ongoing professional development within a respected Texas-based healthcare organization.
