University Health Physicians (UHP) is an academic group practice affiliated with the University of Missouri‑Kansas City School of Medicine (UMKC), serving as the primary physician group for Truman Medical Centers/University Health (TMC/UH) in Kansas City, MO.
UHP supports several residency programs and provides teaching opportunities for residents and medical students.
Job Description
We are seeking a full‑time board‑certified family physician faculty (with or without obstetrics) to join the Department of Community and Family Medicine at UMKC.
Responsibilities
- Hospital medicine, maternity care, and precepting residents and students in clinic (including prenatal, pediatric, adult, and older adult care, and office procedures).
- Resident mentoring and advising.
- Scholarly activity including curriculum development and research.
- Teaching in community clinics, where duties are more limited in scope.
Qualifications
- Board‑certified family physician, with or without obstetrics.
- Post‑graduate clinical practice and teaching experience; residency faculty experience is not required but will be trained if new to academic medicine.
- Commitment to excellence in resident/student education, patient care, and working with underserved populations.
- Desirable traits include flexibility, curiosity, and teamwork.
