The Role

Modo Energy is hiring an Account Executive to own new business across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. You'll run the full sales cycle – from first conversation to signed contract – selling our data and analytics platform to the investors, developers, and operators building the energy transition. This is an early seat on a small, high‑performing sales team. You'll have real autonomy, a warm market to work with, and a product that is already the reference standard for battery storage globally. The people you’re selling to have heard of Modo Energy; your job is to convert that awareness into revenue.

What You'll Do

  • Own a quota and build the pipeline to hit it—through outbound, inbound, and your own network across APAC.
  • Run multi‑stakeholder sales cycles from first conversation to close, typically $60k – $300k in deal value.
  • Deliver sharp, tailored demos of The Modo Energy Terminal that connect our data directly to what a customer is trying to solve.
  • Forecast accurately in HubSpot and maintain a pipeline you’d be comfortable defending to leadership.
  • Feed market and customer insight back into product and research; your proximity to the market makes you one of our best signals.
  • Help shape how we sell as the team grows – your habits and playbook will set the standard.

What We're Looking For

The Essentials

  • 5+ years of full‑cycle B2B SaaS sales experience, ideally selling data, research, or analytics products.
  • Proven track record hitting quota in a high‑growth or startup environment.
  • Experience managing complex, multi‑threaded deals in the $60k – $300k range.
  • Strong communicator who can translate technical product value into commercial language.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building, not just executing a playbook.
  • Active use of AI tools is a core expectation of this role—for prospect research, outreach, call prep, and day‑to‑day efficiency. If you’re not already doing this, this probably isn’t the right fit.

Nice To Have

  • Experience in energy, climate, or adjacent sectors – familiarity with the NEM is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot.
  • Experience as an early sales hire – you’ve built something from scratch before.
