Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a hospitalist to join our team at Forks Community Hospital who is passionate about rural medicine, is looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities, and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy.
We are on a mission to help rural hospitals meet the needs of the people they serve. Our expansive network of passionate, experienced hospitalists, surgicalists, and APPs works full-time to solve the healthcare crisis in rural communities, partnering with hospitals to offer continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.
THE OPPORTUNITY
- 25 Bed critical access hospital (inclusive of swing and SNF beds)
- No ICU
- EMR: Epic Multicare
- Census: ranges from 16-25; Average encounters per day: 5
- Procedures: emergent intubations and central lines (with ED and CRNA backup)
- Hospitalists lead codes
- Some subspecialty and ancillary support available (telemed and in-person)
- ACLS and BLS certification required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Contractor (1099) Status - enjoy tax benefits of owning your own business with the stability if permanent placement
- Daily base shift rate plus productivity incentive structure of your choice: collections or wRVU
- Travel stipend
- Eligibility for monthly and quarterly bonuses based on shift commitment (core team hospitalists only)
- RPG will submit billing on your behalf

- Malpractice and tail coverage insurance provide by RPG
- State licensure assistance available

SCHEDULE & ACCOMMODATIONS
- Consistent placement -plan your schedule 90 days out and beyond
- In an effort to provide continuity of care and consistency within our small rural communities and hospitals, we require a minimum of a 5-day block per month for core team hospitalists (you may work more!)
- PRN hospitalist positions available
- Dedicated private and comfortable lodging/call-room
- Dedicated hospitalist office
- Meals not provided
QUALIFICATIONS
- Board certified or eligible in internal medicine or family medicine
- Active state licensure or ability to obtain
- Ability to perform full scope of practice with minimal support
- Ability to independently manage critically ill patients
- Clean malpractice and disciplinary history
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as bedside manner
- Prior experience preferred but will consider new grads
- Proficiency and willingness to perform some occasional mainline procedures
- Spanish language skills are a plus but not required
