Description

At Talent Butler, we partner with high-growth consumer brands to secure exceptional design talent. We’re currently representing a market-leading retail / hospitality group with a national footprint and an ambitious expansion pipeline.

This is a rare opportunity for a Retail Interior Designer to step into a corporate, brand-led environment, working at scale across new builds, refurbishments, and evolving store formats.

The Opportunity

Working as part of a central Development & Design team, this role is responsible for executing corporate store design standards across multiple projects nationally. You’ll play a key role in ensuring consistency, functionality, and innovation across a growing retail network, while collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants.

This is a hands-on design role with real impact, ideal for someone who enjoys rollouts, refinement, and delivering high-quality interiors in a fast-paced commercial setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce feasibility layouts and internal plans for multiple retail store formats
  • Ensure consistent execution of corporate design standards across new builds and refurbishments
  • Manage and coordinate external designers, consultants, and suppliers
  • Review and oversee design and construction documentation for quality, compliance, and buildability
  • Contribute to the evolution of store concepts, refurbishments, and brand innovation
  • Identify value-engineering opportunities to improve cost efficiency without compromising design intent
  • Maintain and update internal design standards, guidelines, and documentation
  • Prepare concept, tender, and construction documentation packs as required
  • Collaborate with internal business units to ensure designs meet operational, functional, and commercial needs

About You

You’re a commercially minded designer who understands the realities of retail delivery, budgets, and timeframes, and you enjoy working within established brand frameworks while still contributing ideas.

You’ll likely bring:

  • 4–6 years’ experience in retail, hospitality, or commercial interior design
  • A qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or similar
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and related design software
  • Experience producing interior layouts, finishes, elevations, and construction documentation
  • Solid understanding of the construction process, build costs, and consultant coordination
  • Working knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant standards
  • Exposure to F&B, kitchen planning, or QSR environments (highly regarded, not essential)
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-moving environment

Why This Role?

  • Join a high-performing corporate design team with clear standards and support
  • Work on national projects with real scale and visibility
  • Blend hands-on design work with stakeholder engagement and delivery oversight
  • Stable, long-term role within a growing business, not a consultancy churn model
  • Clear career pathway within corporate retail development

How to Apply

This role is being exclusively managed by Talent Butler. If you’re a Retail Interior Designer looking to move into a corporate, rollout-focused design role, we’d love to speak with you.
