About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our growing finance team in Sydney. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end accounting functions of our Australian subsidiary, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing critical support to both local management and our global headquarters. Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Control & Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports in accordance with Australian accounting standards. Ensure timely and high-quality reporting to Group Headquarters for consolidation.
  • Compliance & Governance: Manage all facets of tax compliance (BAS, IAS, FBT, Corporate Tax), prepare for annual audits, and serve as the primary contact for external auditors, the ATO, and banks. Experience with transfer pricing documentation is highly regarded.
  • Business Partnering: Assist in the preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, and cash flow management. Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Operational Accounting: Oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll reconciliations, employee expense claims, bank reconciliations, and fixed asset register maintenance.
  • Systems & Process Improvement: Utilise financial software (SAP experience advantageous) to maintain robust financial controls. Continuously seek to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Skills and Experience

  • CA or CPA qualification (or in progress) is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar accounting role within the Australian context.
  • Solid understanding of Australian tax law and compliance is essential. Practical experience with ATO engagements, audits, and transfer pricing is a strong advantage.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite (advanced Excel skills are required) and experience with major ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Must hold Australian Permanent Residency or Citizenship.
